I was born and raised in South Africa. I have had a keen interest in animals since I was a young boy. I was always surrounded by animals of all kinds and sorts. I started focussing more and more on reptiles over the last 25 years and they have turned into an overwhelming passion and obsession. I obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in the mid 90's, majoring in Zoology and Botany. I added an Honours degree later on and specialised in Zoology.
I kept and bred many native and exotic reptile species during my formative years living in South Africa, with a keen interest in genetic mutations. I decided to move overseas in early 2000 and ended up in Australia, where I served as member and President of the Victorian Herpetological society. It was during this time that the Victorian reptile expo came into existence.I operated a large reptile breeding facility in Melbourne for many years, establishing and laying the foundations of many of the genetic mutations that are currently popular in the Australian reptile hobby. My photography has become an integral part of my life over the last decade. I have a keen eye for the artistic side of animals and spend many hours understanding their habits and behaviour. This knowledge allows me to obtain the images that I create!
